I would note that Jewish so also Christian Old Testament concepts were similar regarding standards and punishments and one of the reasons I find the US more Old Testament or Jewish than Jesus type New Testament of "love one another" and "turn the other cheek".
It is also true that Israel borders varied vastly in pre history and why many look to the largest borders as ones to be returned.
I abhor all religions myself as I find the bad outweighs the good but accept many of good faith.
So I see Moslems as probably Christians delayed.
I believe "comfort" and "knowledge" is the key. It wasn't so long ago we didn't let women vote or share in inheritance etc.
