"Also, we all experience consciousness because we are all self-aware"
noting the two terms "we" and "self-aware", implies two entities:
perhaps the phrase, "self-aware", is not very helpful,
because if the self is aware of the self, what exactly is the self?
if you bang your head on a shelf, there will likey arise a consciousness of the experience, via the senses, as it happens; however that is not the same as awareness (detachment).
your attention of the sensation can be distracted.
sometimes humans are not aware to any relatively significant degree (as when engrossed in a movie), despite functional consciousness faculties being present (via various phsyical or psychic senses)
we are not all "self aware"
some humans (due to various disfunctions or incapacities) may not even get to experience it once in a lifetime.
if there is no attention being paid to an itch, does it exist?
from alan watts:
There was a young man who said 'though
It seems that I know that I know,
What I would like to see
Is the I that sees me
When I know that I know that I know
