whooping cough epidemic, page-82

Jantimot, your posts are so contradictory. First your children never go to the doctor and never get sick. Then one develops whooping cough and does go to the doctor. And another one gets sick chicken pox (and is now at risk of shingles later in life). Hard to know what is meant by never get sick and never go to the doctor. Maybe it means they are mostly well and only go to the doctor when they get sick, just like most children.

So many posts and now all the contradictions are emerging.

Seems a waste of a very long thread the sole purpose of which appears to be to try to justify parents deciding to put their children and other people at risk (while admitting the parents are themselves protected).

And now mollymeade has chimed in saying it's a personal decision (which it is, albeit on behalf of other persons who were not able to choose for themselves at the time). Yet has to make numerous posts to justify this 'personal decision' as well because of an apparent dislike for 'big pharma', and as if not completely assured that it was the correct decision either.

Hopefully the fashion will go away soon. The outbreak of whooping cough in the more affluent suburbs as described by Free Will should make some parents rethink their anti-social stance. Though it will have taken their children's suffering to wake them up to the fact that they can no longer rely on 'herd immunity' when the level of immunity in a community drops below a critical level because of the anti-vax fashion.

Peer pressure - it's wonderful when it works for the good of society but can have awful consequences when it works against society.
