You may be right about the SP, it may not spike at all considering the performance of gold mining stocks of late.
As a long term investor though, what matters to me is that they will start to achieve organic growth from here on, drilling results will be a big factor as well.
Aman makes a good point about the markets, deinitely twitchy at the moment with talk of a correction in the US based on weak data & mounting debt concerns, so all stocks might be punished if it unfolds.
Gold story still looks good though.
POG may still come back a bit but I'm still betting on a longer term bull market for it; lots of physical buying in Asia & cenral bank buying could create good supply/demand scenario to push it higher. $US will need a lot of time to recover, could be seeing a dead cat bounce on the $US index too which may favour gold as storer of wealth so lots to look out for.
