Firstly, do you all believe the party line on this one?
Remember, we were not going to have a carbon tax, and now the party line is what a good job Julia Gillard is doing...

Secondly, there may be more to this than muslims wanting sharia law and us all saying no.

I understand (please confirm folks if you know) that the Jewish people have their own courts here for similar matters such as divorce etc.
Also, there is a Koori court for some aboriginals.

So, following the logic and legalites, why CAN'T muslims have their own laws for divorce etc. Surely if they are not granted it would be islamophobic and discriminatory, would it not? Isn't their culture just as valid as Jewish culture, or Koori culture? Aren't their 'rights' just as valid?

This is the knot that 'multiculturalism' and moral relatisivm creates. It just ends up a complete mess.

I suspect however that it wouldn't hold up in court.
