Thanks for the further info on the 45 day rule.

I was aware of the exemption for small investors but in my case I saw that once the div for RHG was announced that it was a no brainer and I bought a hell of a lot more for my super fund.

My super fund will exced the $5,000 franking credit for 2010-2011 because of the fully franked dividends from RHG and the BHP buy back. Both of these were very good in a disappointing market.

I guess I should have explained the 45 day rule completely because many of the Hot Copper readers would benefit.
