Clearly the $A/$US is the key to finance approval for this takeover. What the $US does between now and then is anyones guess.
I take issue with your last paragraph...

IMO Why would Eden be looking to get out based on market volatility ? If the takeover proceeds AMU will cease to be a listed entity and will continue to profitably produce oil and gas for decades to come. Surely s/t volatility does not enter into the equation when you are taking a longterm view on the value of these assets.
