When there is an ongoing debate about pokies and possibilities to reduce the incidence of problem gambling and the many social problems associated with this, I find it outrageous that a labor politician would leave the government to join a casino...

This seems to me to be a very different situation to a politician retiring and joining a company that for examples deals with the military... often, while certainly advantageous to the company he joins, can be also advantageous to the military and seems more to do with facilitating communications rather than legislation avoidence, although that could also be involved...

Of course the person in question, apart from being a labor politician can also been a union man so the normal standards of decency hardly apply... there are no rules for these guys except try not to get caught, and if you get caught have a good cover story ready.

The Crowne casino seems to be making a smart move in purchasing the insider knowledge this guy possibly has...
