I'm purely speculating here but if say and MCC came up with similar bids then because of the experience with MCC then the logical sale choice would be ... which puts MCC already at a disadvantage. TS would be mad to get burnt twice so to speak....

What MCC may do at this point is to offer a resolution to the $80m dispute along with a marampa bid to help sway TS. They could even offer less for Marampa than other parties but with guarantee of the $80m might just sway the deal their way (which may also include Cape Lambert South too).

So, yes i personally see strong merits in this argument and it will have obviously crossed MCC's minds too. I think we are both on the same page so to speak...

This post is pure speculation on my part.
