I trade FX, commodities and the share indices. I have $x in my account and I can buy or sell whatever I like as long as I do not run out of cash
eg
I have 10k and buy $100 per point in the Australian index, my margin would be $2500. So now I have $7500 in buffer before I need to stump up more cash.
If someone buys 1 mil POH through CMC at 15.5 and holds overnight, they will pay a trade charge and overnight financing. So next day when price doesn't continue up, they dump it all. This is the pattern I have seen after each announcement from POH over recent weeks.
