it's actually science based and Presidents/Prime ministers and royals, ceo's etc have entire teams that tutor them on this stuff. - Mainly to do with body language - microfacials are much harder to control.
As do some govt' departments - customs I suspect and border patrol.
Ask any professional poker player - they also use it extensively, even if they don't know what it is called.
There is some amazing research around gambling and risk - measuring emotions - believe it or not the body recognizes by emotions a risk situation way way before any logic or known senses pick anything up.

This board is full of traders - I would have thought that all of us would be very familiar with emotions before during and after placing a trade - those emotions show up in the body - both in feeling (something you can physically feel) and you can see them also - various types of body language - including microfacials.
In investing or with staff/partners etc. - it is useful when there is a disconnect between what is being said verbally and what the body is saying --
believe me it is incredibly valuable if you can tell if a ceo or spokesman is telling the truth or not.

Every business meeting possible I take my personal canary along with me (my partner) - she can spot a dud and mixed messages at 1000 yards.
