mjc, i could be wrong here and happy to be corrected by the more knowledgeable.

The intellectual property behind the Anteo Surface Technology is covered by six
published patent applications where the earliest priority date is late 2000 and themost relevant patent application, for the combinatorial chemistry aspect of the technology, has a priority date of 2002. This means that while most US and
European patents are still pending, Anteo?s core technology has basic patent
    protection out to 2022.

the basic patent protection = Australia patent?

got this from the aust patent gov website re generation of surface coating diversity. and the expiry is out to 2023

only 2 patents has been granted for the US and they both came in 2007, feb and july. refer to past ann from ASX website and you will find that there were 2 anns to refer to this. the two patents are

    1. A method of treating the surface of a substrate polymer useful for graft
    polymerisation

    2. Modifying the surface of polymer substrates by graft polymerisation

by getting the euro patent secured brings in additional confidence in the coy for myself.

imo, the reason why we have only signed 2 bead company agreements is due to lack of IP protection.

its ez for beads company, there is little developmental cost in making these beads, just raw materials and add the glue and ab. nothing too drastic even if faced with a potential IP issue, if there is any potential IP infringement, the companies can just readily seize the production of further beads and stop selling them, stamping the problem.

however with an immunoassay test, it is a different idea. the coy should be more cautious and rightly so. if i spend $xxx million to develop this immunoassay, i would want it to work but at the same time i wouldnt want all my development of my assay to be linked to a product that could potentially cause IP issues.

could the euro patent spark the signatures?? i wait in anticipation esp when we have this news from the coy:

One of these Top 20 IVD companies is evaluating Mix&Go for a particular test which has 10% false negatives. The test generates $200 million in Europe alone.

The test evaluated is one component in a six-test panel. If successful, there are five other tests in the panel to which Mix&Go could potentially be applied to.

Anteo believes it will be cash flow positive from having this one company adopt Mix&Go for this one test.
