what is also sad is the actions of these unions are goign to put off investment in SA that would have meant more jobs and higher wages in the long run. Look at RIo efectively getting out of a coal project recently. Very sad for those guys trying to make an honest living. However i admit i don't know what mining wages are like in SA so maybe they have a case for wages rises or maybe not. Would be intertesting to hear a view from someone who knows the situtation in more detail.
