Biota (BTA) is a good example of a biotech story that was "going to the moon". $100+ share price wrote more than one analyst.
They signed a major deal back in 1990 (some 21 years ago now) with one of the largest pharmaceuticals on the planet, GlaxoSmithKline. The following is the latest royalty payment received by BTA.
"Relenza Royalty for March 2011 quarter
Biota Holdings Limited (ASX:BTA) advises that it has received written notification from GlaxoSmithKline that Relenza sales were $14.1 million and indicative royalties were $1.0 million, for the three months ended 31 March 2011.
Indicative Relenza royalty income for the nine months to 31 March 2011 is $4.3 million."
Reality is often different to the hype.
