Prosperman, If you are as poor as you say, I understand there are plenty of jobs around. The unemployment rate in Australia is very low and skilled labour is in short supply.
If you are poor even after you get a job, or a pensioner, you are likely to be better off with the compensation you get under the carbon pricing scheme.
If you are very rich and still can't afford the extra cost, you are most definitely wasting electricity and there are energy audit services available to help you do manage your use better.
