As for Ms. Blanchett, who lived just "down the road" from us pre film star status, (well, in much posher Ivanhoe) one would assume that an actress - whoops actor, of her stature would receive lots of scripts, and read them all, weigh them up and assess them, and then pick and choose which roles she would be enthused about playing, and which not. This is not about Cate Blanchett, actress. A job she does well.
So some pony tailed whizz kid shoves this propaganda in her hands, and she goes on the telly, without weighing up any of the for and against top level scientific opinions of such weighty and blatant political propaganda (and I talk REAL top rate scientists, not those who have switched over from their own discipline into something they are not qualified in, yet now huffing and puffing, portarying themselves as instant experts on future world climatic conditions' according to them - based on what?
Was she given a briefing on the other side of the debate issues? No? So she could come at this from an ethical viewpoint? No again? Why am I not suprised.
Because, folks, as I keep saying - we have here a bunch of Machiavellian schemers - under the guise of "responsible politicians) doing anything to keep themselves in power. Including ruining us if necessary.
Miss. Blanchett and Mr. Caton, et al, need to realise that they are messing with Australia's future political and financial direction here. They are not flogging toothpaste.
It is nothing to do with freedom of speech. They are being cajoled (and paid?) to twist our arms on one way evidence.
It is arrogant and presumptuous, if not dangerous, of them. And worse, if they were paid to do it, (which we should be told about) it's an absolute disgrace.
