As a teenager I worked in an abbatoir, involved in slaughtering cattle, sheep and pigs. However the establishment slaughtered many hundreds or thousands.
What I saw was unbelievable, there was no comparison with what was happening here in Oz in the mid 50s. However, I got the impression that the worst abuses occurred in very small establishments. I think that export should not be banned and only selected slaughter houses should be licensed. On the other hand would you like people in other countries to tell you what to do? For example you should not allow women to wear miniskirts?
