First thing should be done..I know it's a little pedantic..but as this is a SCIENTIFIC debate, and science is all ABOUT being accurate, facts, and maybe even about being pedantic...it should be called a carbon DIOXIDE tax,or debate or whatever.
Calling it a CARBON tax conjures up images of ingesting black stuff..I know it helps the fear campaigners...but it's an misleading beginning to the whole thing.
I know it's a whole another word..to say DIOXIDE but surely that's not too much of an imposition in a scientific debate which could change the course of our country's future.
Call it a CO2 debate..? but let's get away from the fundamental lie of carbon ..governments should not be allowed to be so lazy. And then, who knows..we may then choose to have a debate (or not) on the real question of an odorless, colorless gas which plant life thrives on.
For me,I think I'll pass altogether on disscusions of "carbon"
