Nervous,
The problem with Drew Hutton is he wants to turn off coal and CSG now and immediately switch to renewables (that's an hour of my life trawling his YouTube videos and to be honest it was a complete waste of time). Right NOW.
If the guy is such a genius and has the solution he should start a Power Company NOW and go for his life. Everyone else with half a brain is trying to work out how to make the most of the available fuel sources and options we have. The nuclear debate in this country hasn't even started: therefore IT IS either coal for electricity generation or gas. There is no other option and despite his hysterical, non-sensical protestations until that changes we have to choose between the options available. A do nothing approach is a tacit endorsement of the status quo.
The real SP driver for ESG IMO is NSW getting a more certain picture on their land use policy so we can look forward from the haze with some clearer political certainty. The good thing for ESG is the size of their acreage affords strategic optionality. Should some land be annexed strictly for agricultural use there is still a myriad of options.
Would also be nice for ESG to pull their fingers out and release updated pilot flow info, evidence to back up their claims the current flows are commercial and evidence to back up their claims the Feasability Study for Newcastle was/is attractive. So far it's all hot air and secret squirells. A bit of a deterrent for many investors.
