Not sure Bones, but this overly-negative act will bite him hard if he's not careful. Personally, I hope that he keeps it up. It will ensure his demise.
Only a couple of months ago, I opined that both Gillard and Abbott would be replaced before the next election. However, since then, I think lack of patience has gotten the better of both Rudd and Turnbull, and the credibility they had each accumulated for the noble manner in which they each handled their respectively dirty removals, has been slightly eroded, although each of them apparently is still preferred in the polls.
Andrew Robb is a proven political strategist and puppeteer, and Abbott is undoubtedly dancing to his tune, just as Gillard, to arguably a slightly lesser extent, is dancing to the tune of her advisors.
The fact is, Abbott is a headkicker by nature, and to let him loose without his rehearsed lines is not an option. We've seen on numerous occasions that the most bizarre behaviours and statements are hiding right behind his lips. The problem for the Coalition is not allowing them to escape. The last thing they need is for the real Tony Abbott to suddenly escape.
This macho, boofheaded approach to policy has a fairly short 'Use By' date. Labor's failures, both policy and PR wise, have lengthened Abbott's expiry date, but I still believe it will arrive before the next election.
Australia needs and deserves much better than Tony Abbott, and I believe Australians will recognise that shortly.
