re: Ann: Presentation at CSG 2011 Conference,... you MUST have a read of the just=released DLS presentation.

Because it shows the scale of the issue we are referring to.
It helps illustrate my point, that this shale gas resource is so big, but more importantly, all encompassing, that it is a sure bet that some rationalisation is going to occur WHEN (not if) BPT demonstrates that shale gas is a viable resource in C/B.

I have copied a couple of slides to start with.

Note on first slide below - ATP855 I think is just to the right of "2750" which is right in the middle of that slide.
The line showing the cross section is represented in the following slide.

then have a look at the cross-section slide below.
it shows that the cross section goes right thru ATP855.
And my point is that these shale sequences appear to go thru a number of permits - and those permits are held by BPT, ICN and DLS.
And it looks to me like the thickest sections are in ATP855. Because DLS permit ATP940 is directly below ICN ATP855.

In my mind, it would be stupid to try and develop the three shale gas areas independently - it would be far smarter to consolidate in some form, and develop the C/B shale gas resource together.

If it make economic sense, then it WILL happen!

Please have a look and let me know your thoughts.
    Interesting heh?
    cheers
