The opinion expressed in that article is a valid way of viewing the carbon tax but it is not the only way of viewing it.
An alternative which is valid to me is that by being applied mainly to wealthy people not the battlers it is taxing those who have the financial resources to consume the most and in doing so cause the most carbon pollution.
So it is hitting the right people hardest and though they can afford to pay and most will not change their lifestyles those taxes we are told will go into developing renewables.
