1. The story of the Balatindi Cake in layman's (and baker's) terms.

At first we heard about a party with a promise of a fantastic cake. The early Italiana gold results were a succulent base, perhaps a "torta napoletana". The icing, the new drilling with deep mineralised extensions, was perhaps a sweety and airy creamy vanilla with fresh peach and passionfruit inlays.

Unfortunately the cake turned out to be more like a Woolies sponge cake and the icing not much more than a sugar coating.

What really sucks is that the price chart tells us many party-goers may have left early knowing that the cake was not worth waiting for. RG first knew the cake might be plainer than guests were anticipating back in January. In February he bought $100K worth, thus signalling "don't worry guys, the party is still on and the cake will be a "piece de resistance". In March he received further confirmation that the cake would likely be more ordinary than we were hoping. However, the party dragged on and on and the crowd kept thinning. Eventually the cake was presented to the weary crowd, the music stopped, and many rushed for the exits. Those that stayed were left standing on the dance floor with a plate of crumbs wondering what the hell just happened.

Still, the cake can be improved and there are other things in the Burey fridge.


2. My take on the assay query.

Cyanide leach is faster and they had a lot of core to get through. However sometimes it doesn't catch all the gold, so those splits above 1 g/t were confirmed by fire assay.
