COMEX METALS... spot gold is currently $1533.04 oz. The June gold contract fell $10.40 to $1532 oz, the July contract fell $10.50 to $1532.20 oz. June silver was down $1.489 to $36.200 oz. July platinum fell $6.10 to $1817.80 oz and June copper fell 2.25c to 408.05c lb.

LONDON METAL EXCHANGE... official cash ask prices were: copper $9037.50 tonne (pre $9171), tin $27,375 (pre $27,850), lead $2485 (pre $2513), zinc $2226 (pre $2226), aluminium $2632 (pre $2653) and nickel $22,955 (pre $23,335).

The 3-month ask prices were copper $9050.50 (pre $9180.50), tin $27,450 (pre $27,900), lead $2477 (pre $2507), zinc $2245.50 (pre $2245), aluminium $2654.50 (pre $2670.50) and nickel $23,035 (pre $23,400).



OIL... July crude rose $0.11 to $100.40 a barrel, with a high of $100.90 and a low of $98.46. The Aug contract rose $0.14 to $101 a barrel with a high of $101.45 and low of $99.06. Brent ICE for July rose $1.14 to $115.67 a barrel with a high of $115.83 and a low of $113.74.

US DOLLAR... is changing hands at 80.90 yen (pre 80.96), against the euro it is US$1.4484 (pre 1.4333) against sterling US$1.6358 (pre 1.6335) and against the Swiss franc US$1.1871 (pre 1.1867).





AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR... is changing hands at US$1.0674 compared with US$1.0628 on yesterday's close. Offshore the Aussie posted a high of US$1.0689 and low of US$1.0589. Against the yen it is at 86.33 (pre 85.89) at 73.69 euro cents (pre 74.02) and 65.25 British pence (pre 64.93).

Reuters CRB index is up 1.98 points to 347.90.
