It will be interesting to see when they log it - normally (and preferred by drilling folk) it would be after reaching TD of the section.

It does happen however when the LWD (logging while drilling) logs look very good that the geologists will want to drill a logging pocket below the zone of interest and then pull out prior to TD to log before the zone is exposed to drilling fluid (mud) for too long. Obviously this is more expensive because they will still want to rig up and wireline log at TD so you end up doing it twice.

I wouldn't be that surprised if NDO go either way, on one hand it needs to be as thoroughly evaluated as possible as it is going behind pipe and I don't believethey will test this zone (probably not the deeper zone either - might suspend the well and test later). On the other hand it is extra $$ so they may just wait to TD and log once.

If they say they are picking up a core barrel then that would be massively positive!
