Bah humbug sticks :) How many multi baggers can one enjoy if unwilling to ride the bumps? No guts, no glory though appreciate your strategy works for you, similar to a good mate of mine.
Don't always use stop losses either as most of my multi baggers first dropped in price, some halved before the fundamentals kicked in.
You are correct about risk and my mate hates the idea of being exposed to a black swan. Investors like me may lose on the troughs, whether days, weeks, months while GFC in fact provided long termers with marvellous opportunities to multi bag in reasonable short time frames.
We can't resolve the merits (and who cares, whatever works) though might be fun if YourMoneyYourCall did a segment with few TA traders vs a few LT investors with a $100,000 pot and monitor their profits at the end of 6,12,24 months.
