Hi Rosso,
If you have a look at a chart in a candle format,
A gap is formed when the days low ends up higher than the previous days high.
EG: Today a stock trades from 15 cents to 17cents.
Yesterday the stock had a high of 13cents.
The gap occurs between the 13cent high and the low of 15cents.
