Bots is short for "robots" or algorithmic automated trading programs; computers trading away if you like. They use patterns of trades to try and manipulate the market either to sell at a good price or else to accumulate. They often do multiple tiny trades in quick succession and sometimes rival bots fight it out onscreen. It can be a good sign for a stock in that traders big enough to run them are interested in that stock or else it might just be a roaming bot that looks for opportunities to make small amounts of money on vulnerable stocks with the right trading patterns. But if they make lots of small profits over millions of trades this can, of course, be a large profit and at the expense of ordinary traders/shareholders.
