Before Fukashima, Germany was already planning to phase out its nuclear reactors and if I recall correctly Britain too. Germany is a leader in solar panels.
I however am not concerned about this as there will be plenty of demand from other countries such as the BRICs and the US. It has been predicted for a long time a uranium shortage in the future. It provides baseload power with lower carbon emmissions as compared to the alternatives like coal and natural gas which helps countries meet emmissions targets.
My main concern from an investors point of view is if another technology is invented that replaces uranium or clean coal etc. Though I can't see this happening within my investment horizon (6 months to 2 years) and clean coal could still co-exist.
