re: just for neo fans.options convert at 5c ds - a general observation that I have is that a lot of people on this forum have too little to do and too much time to do it in. I think this leads to a lot of frustration that comes out in various different ways when trades are not working out or not working out fast enough!

It is very interesting to sit back and observe the various posters around here (my self included) and wonder why they bother logging in - never mind actually posting?

I think it is probably a mix of boredom, social outlet (life as a trader can be lonely), wanting tips (can't be bothered researching), wanting leadership (just like in the normal workplace some people need leadership or they get nothing done), a genuine belief that they are learning something, consider themselves a guru in an area (ie a little bit of fame/recognition), lack confidence and need others support who hold the same stock so as to feel part of the mob, exploit others - yes, some do buy, put in a sell order right away and then ramp - I am convinced of that.

Not up to me to say what Meerkat should do with his NEO that he is holding but he appears to have similar frustrations with NDO as well that I believe he also still holds - although NDO hasn't had a possible $2 share price proposed yet around here! But - I don't quite fathom entirely his unhappiness at the progress of either of these stocks from a price point of view and not sure if he is entirely unhappy from that angle anyway? More the point I think that he might be feeling that gains made so far are great but being cautious in nature wants these gains to be underpinned by fundamentals - ie an economic gas find (oil?) in the case of NEO and a development of Galoc for NDO. Then when someone comes along and puts a possible $2 tag on NEO with a post that lacked detail on how they came to that conclusion then this likely made him snap and express his opinions in a way that people may not have liked - people disagree and then ego's take over and the real debate to be had is lost in amongst insults, a bit of mobbing (ie 10 on to 1) etc...

Putting NEO and NDO specifically aside - I think that if anyone is feeling total frustration or fear or any other negative emotion about a position that they hold then they need to take action - not because the position is wrong, as it might be the next ten bagger from that point - but more so because the mental affect that holding such a position that one feels that way about can only be bad for trading/investing (and mental health in extreme cases).

So in Meerkats position - what does he do to relieve frustration and get back into a better frame of mind for moving forward in his trading? Does he take 3 deep breaths, re-evaluate the entire position and arrive at possible actions - such as...

. Look at the trading plan on entry? Was there one? If not - then stop trading until one is developed?
    . Sell the lot now?
. Sell SOME - lighten the position and pocket some profits and still have some exposure to potential upside?
. After reviewing the trading plan - do nothing - accept the risk/reward and decide happy and comfortable to hold and frustrations were unfounded and then take some time out away from the market?

I don't know...but something has to happen - a positive frame of mind is required plus courage to be successful in the long run.

Holding positions that we are unhappy with by my own experiences affects other trading and dents our confidence so that we lack courage to take action on the 'esay' trades.

Ever held on to something too long that you knew should have been sold and then cut it loose and felt a real relief that the stock was gone and were able to move forward (usually sold right at the bottom when everyone else did the same!!)? Not that the stock itself that was the issue - rather the negative affect it has on our thinking and self confidence to have the courage to take the correct positions that subsequently appear.

Lot's more could be said on this topic... but I'm Neil Diamoned out and tired.
