Most Australians could not give a rats about their super until they are near retirement age, I know as I used to be an Employee Rep for our Employer run fund prior to pulling out and starting our SMSF ! Absolutely amazing with the apathy shown by most of my colleagues - If they wouldn't turn up to a free super session with free tea & biscuits in work time, I doubt they will be reading HC !
889 & Barrelnut, you miss my point. Most posting on HC Super are fully aware of the industry and most likely run their own SMSF - you are not telling us anything new !
As much as I appreciate & understand your concerns (having had similar), I would rather read pro-active posts on how we can improve our positions now, rather than dwelling on the past.
