You've got one- Gemco and GOT both come under the same legislation. If Gemco make a move on their sea based tenements we'll go after them long mongrel dogs in that realm, just as we do in regard to their land based operations. Just like in our campaign we pursue GOT like the proverbial mongrel dog after a bone.

I don't know what Gemco are doing about this in terms of their lobbying of the NT and Commonwealt Governmnets. But I imagine they wouldn't be idle, and I'd imagine they'd have direct access to Government all levels, they might even have a red phone, a hotline between them like Kennedy and Kruschev at the height of the cold war, buggered if I know...but they're the ninth most profitable mine in the land and no doubt they'll be pursuing their own agendas with ruthless intent.

ALC aren't in bed with Gemco, I'm not in bed with Gemco, even you as one of my harshest critics on this forum surely acknowledges this by now. This is David and Goliath stuff for both the ALC and GOT, we're the "Davids" and their Goliath. Thank God for legislation and process as it applies to mining and regulatory nature of the modern industry...if it wasn't there the likes of Gemco and GOT too for tht matter would just what they damn well liked.

In terms of GOT's relationship with Gemco I certainly don't think it helped that GR went around in the first instance bodly challenging the multi-national as the "new player" in the mn game and the "they won't like it" etc. Given what I've seen of multi-national mining companies I wouldn't be surprised if Gemco simply attempted to crunch GOT out of spite...to put an upstart in its place.

In my opinion GOT should have gone quietly, quietly in the first instance...established some relationships with the TO's, sussed out the lay of land so to speak, and not go around boasting that they were the next "big thing" in mn. But that's water under bridge. And like I've posted recently I acknowledge and sympathise that some SH's are scared out of their wits about doing their dough and, in kind, I'd hope that they acknowledge the TO's are scared out of their wits about losing their culture.

It's crap all 'round, and personally, although I like this job and the challenge I'd rather be doing something else. You know the amount of time aI spend posting on here, and that's probably about 20% of my workload. I'm not complaining, it's my choice; but I will repeat my sentiments stated at the start of this paragraph...it's crap all 'round.
