when i am spraying my evil weed killing chemicals at 1 or 2 acres a minute,and i see my organic neighbors missus trudging around with a hoe,beating each weed to death by hand,i don't see how they can be paid enough to make a dollar slogging away like that.[and they aren't,he has to work away, and their family in the city gives them the expensive capital items,tractors etc.]
anybody with an emotional need to eat in a certain way,can. it doesn't bother me. it only bothers me when they feel they have to insist on me farming their way.
saw an interesting article in the weekend fin,about how the calorie need to fuel the thirld world has dropped as the people are freed from the slavelike drudgery of manual farming.
emotional concern is unshakeable,but it doesn't transfer to people with logic based operating systems. all i can say is ,if food concerns you emotionally, then pay for food that doesn't concern you, and pay well enough that the people trying to supply you with 'gold standard emotionally appropriate' food can make a living. if the demand was really there,the profitable niche would be supplied.
it is found that what people say in the grip of strong emotion,or provide as an answer to an emotionally leading question,has nothing to do with the way they spend money day in day out.
[and i don't grow genetically modified closed loop marketed crops, because the niche i operate in is profitable for me.....but i don't mind if someone else wants to do it.]
