    I will not partake in this argument...

    You are both right and both wrong, although you may not see it...somewhere amoungst this emotive banter lies the middle ground.

    I will however, comment on the implications of such events.

    It has long been suspected that much of our aging equipment is simply not up to scratch...that it would fail when push came to shove!

    At times of conflict, or indeed, during intensive periods of humanitarian aid and disaster relief, our people...and our equipment...are often pushed to their design limitations.

    The argument on this thread should not be concerned with the merits or otherwise of this particular mission, but with the safety and appropriateness of the equipment at hand.

    If not for the current activity, this accident may well have occurred at a Townsville base, during simple exercises...what then would be the fallout?

    See the wood for the trees, and try to keep the emotive religious issues to yourselves.
