I'm convinced it's a scam. Legitimate at first, Yasi, but a con now.
Woolies charges $12.95/kg. A fruit mob next door has small, blotchy ones for a dollar under. That's a con. Woolies can rip me off because at least there's are a quality presented product. They had none on Thursday??? Only some Organic ones in a 500gr bag, how much I asked, $9 she says(weren't marked so I had to ask). $18/kg I respond and put them back muttering, "I'm in the wrong business". That's a massive con.
As others suggest, boycott and buy some other fruit.
Still on rip offs. Veg shop has some QLD strawberries at $2.99/punett(250gr). Were pretty decent. At summer prices. Good ole IGA had exactly the same at rip off price of $7.99. We're being played. It's a free market. But they must really think we are stupid!
I would appreciate a whistle blower. I don't mind being ripped off, so to say, but to harp on about climatic disasters being the cause is beyond me.
Michelef states, more than weeks apart, that in QLD they're about $5/kg. Massive difference.
