Seems like Colt could be the manufacture of maul worldwide. I was thinking it was going to be sales and manufacturing for nth America. But no mention of sales by Colt. Also sounds like mst wants to hand pick just the best gun dealers from around the world. Many Colt dealers?? I'm sure Colt could recommend a few good ones.
The overall business model seems identical to what's used be software companies. Initial fee (maul), annual support (ammo). The annual fee is the real profit. Maybe a large dealer margin on initial sales (maul) to help drive sales. With a small dealer margin on the annual fees (ammo) to drive mst profit! Most software companies outsource programming/coding work (manufacturing maul).
Maybe the colt deal will not be signed until mst needs colt to manufacture maul? Once mst has an order to place with Colt (such as after payment from png), then mst will place an order with Colt ('sign agreement'). Signing an agreement now by mst would be signing an agreement to pay Colt to 'tool up' and manufacture nothing (no sales yet, looking at you PNG, AFP, AU DOD!!)
btw, I think Colt's decision would also be based on more than just what mst say and their one customer from png. Colt would want to know there's real potential here. I guess they could ask that US customer who awarded them that no bid contract for the M4....
