After reading most of the chapters of your novel I have come to a conclusion that you have a set position and bend the argument around that - on the other hand I cannot see how you would be qualified to say GOTs mining say 1 square kilometre in all their tenements would be a) an environmental catastrophe when all the checks and balances will be put in place by those imminently more qualified than yourself - so your insistence that this is an environmental disaster is unsubstantiated scare mongering

and b) if song lines are not able to go over the top of, around or through one square kilometre of mining out of the million odd square kilometres that they apparently transverse then the song line argument becomes an argument of pure convenience especially as you have no idea where the mining would be in the first place

To use the analogy given to me by the company - if the granted tenements where the Melbourne Cricket Ground the mine would take up approximately one seat

I have said it before the cultural card has assumed a level of importance for those who protest which may turn out to be way above its reality

I did ask in a previous post exactly how GOTs mine would be cultural genocide - that is destroy their culture completely - a one square kilometre mine (if that) in all that sea and people will not be able to be reborn (and you rememberyou don't have a clue which square kilometre it will be)
