"Why is it that a few people can land here many years ago and say ...ALL THIS IS OURS AND NO ONE ELSE CAN HAVE A BIT OF IT."

The people who landed here many years ago have generally worked hard and paid taxes to help develop the country.

It seems that many of boat arrivals want to live off the taxes of those who work hard in this country. They seem to expect fortnightly payments, housing, free medical, free education and access to the free legal system so they can initially appeal being sent home and then secondly to sue the Aussie tax payer.

There have been recent reports that state a large percentage of boat arrivals are not working after several years in this country. They are apparently bludging off the hard working people in this country with no seeming effort to pull their weight by working and paying their share of taxes.

There is a big difference between those who came many years ago and many that are coming in by boat now. Those who are working should not have to support a freebie lifestyle to people who come here with the apparent intent of rorting our welfare system.

If the people who landed here many years ago had bludged and expected the taxpayer to entirely support them, we would not have the country we have now.

If people come here, they should be willing to assimilate, learn english and start pulling their weight financially, and not bring violence with them, imo. I think you will find they would be welcomed as the ones who came many years ago.

    Does that answer your question?
