These industries are paying for empty ships, empty trucks, staff, feed for the animals. Furthermore their former customers are reviewing importing any cattle from Australia, a whole market has potentially disappeared.
What cattle were prepared for export are being sold for whatever they can get for them as they simply cannot afford to keep them in limbo. Domestic prices are likely to fall as these cattle also hit the domestic market, as will the cattle industries profits.
