The positive bias towards the FA can be attributed to the fact that BLEG analysis does not
measure total gold content and only measures leachable gold. The grade reported by BLEG
will be affected by leach time and coarse gold content. The longer the leach time and the
less coarse gold in the sample the higher the grade will be. FA analysis is not affected by
coarse gold content. For samples with a significant coarse gold content (typically higher
grade samples) the difference between FA and BLEG will be greatest.
