Before raising Japan's nuclear problem this year, seek out a 1968 Holden.

Not a concourse one, a farmers back of hay shed one. Perhpas it used to work and with a new battery and the chook poo removed probably goes ok. Welcome to Fukushima.

Complete over reaction to say the new Electric Vehicle Holden is total crap because the 1968 Holden is a dud...I mean look at it. Who wants a clapped out 1968 Holden. That is what is happening, and..it is the same reason the space shuttle is finished. The 1970's technology was built in the space shuttle...proven, tried, reliable, eventually even the US can't afford the spares. Same with Japan, except it was using 1968 nuclear designs and technology, and the accountants didn't have the US budget to maintain it.

It is not glib excuse of defence, its fact. There was corruption and politicisation of the regulatory process. Unmaintained, technology from your simple PV to Space Shuttles will fail without money being spent on them to properly maintain them.

Everybody is hoping new technology will fix carbon, Hoping for a breakthrough or hoping for some cost curve will be realised is fantasy. No politician is going to gamble on either. The evidence is in. Spain gambled, and their economy is on the toilet. All those great feed-in solar tariffs and massive subsidies for solar has destroyed them, unemployment through the roof. Why didn't all this renewable stuff create jobs instead? because too damn expensive and job creation post construction is a lie.

Back to gas,,,glad as hell we got plenty for now. So long as foreign entities don't out bid us for our own gas. This may be a short term issue, but I'm confident there is still plenty lingering around in the dead centre.
