haka, I wondered the same thing myself about another company- Director bought and the next day announced a profit upgrade and the price rose >30%- pfft. However, it turns out that companies merely had to submit a trading policy to the ASX, but the ASX doesn't monitor them- they just have to have one. This other company had a policy that said Directors could not buy around Christmas results, or something. SIP probably has their trading policy in one of the ANN's on here. Maybe some of these companies have policies around not trading at annual or half year results, but anything else is a green light.
Mark Hooper wouldn't be so dumb as to contravene the policy- he seems unable to put a foot wrong right now. SIP is the true market darling. :)
