The fuel consumption figure in the thread header is such a break through imo that I have mulled a few consequences:
# Why wouldn't a carbon sensitive govt mandate at least a significant portion of all future vehicles manufactured in or imported to Australia meet similar fuel efficiency?
# How might oil producers react to such a mandate?
# How much might oil refiners react to such a mandate?
# How might the fuel distribution industy be affected globally, nationally and locally?
# If part of a global trend, how long might such a mandate push out the time to peak oil?
