Run 'c:\chkdsk /r' from a command prompt (select yes) are reboot to clean up and hard disk problems. Depending on your operating system you may need to run the command prompt (dos box) as Administrator (right click it and select run as admin). This is a good proactive house keeping and best to do monthly or so. This should improve things:

Look to install something called mailwarebytes (free version)...helps to clean up spyware better than anything out there imho of late.
