That will make them very useful members of society, won't it? That will make them feel welcome. This will stop them from re-offending? This is their first expression of anger against the grown ups. If it's not treated sensibly, then expect more. Not only from them but from their friends and sympathisers.
Sensibly means without malice or a need for revenge. Sensibly means by education, by allowing them to be full participants in society, not alienated, excluded from good schools, from jobs, from dignity and pumped full of drugs and alcohol.
