When push comes to shove Cougar and its SH may actually now be better off than if Anna and DERM had not shown their true face....
Sure CXY would have been continuing with its "Demonstration" facility and possibly even be producing a couple of MW of electricity soon and the SP would be about tenfold what it is today... But in the long term thats all CXY would have been allowed to achieve.
We have been forced to fast track enter JV agreements and head to China. To me this is one of the best things which could have occured but the market place just dosnt understand.....so a great opportunity for SH to accumulate.
The Chinese are forward looking people....They know that they have Energy shortfalls and massive pollution from trying to industralise and compete on the world market....They are currently positioning themselves to be the world leader in UCG technologies and other emerging clean energy technologies.....As far as UCG goes there are now a host of companies from around the world initiating UCG projects in JV with State backed enterprises. The possibility of carbon capture, ulilising stranded and poor quality coals, reduction in pollution and less reliance on importing its energy requirements are strong reasons that China is now investing Big Time on implementing UCG.
Cougar is well placed to really demonstrate to the Chinese that it has world class technology and can commercialise Large power generation facilities and then replicate this in a variety of locations. Approvals and funding will not be an issue and COUGAR will regain its reputation as a world leader.
As for QLD.....good ridance.
As for Australia NT VIC and SA may be the White Knights in preventing another tragic IP brain drain. Lets hope CXY gets the opportunity to participate in some of the slated Aussie UCG mega projects in the near future.
