22 million aussies making an effort to reduce CO2 vs 2 billion chinese (1.3 billion official, 700 million unofficial - speak to someone in China that has money there is the "black" people that are not on the books) that need energy and need it cheap. The Indians and the Chinese are buying coal and uranium. They have 100 times the populous of Oz and need to continue to energise and bring them up to first world conditions.

The west has done it for decades so why wouldnt these continents do the same until they are in a better economic position to make change.

The world probably needs a carbon tax but on a level playing field. Labour is just socialising Oz in to the communist state of government control and taxation where they decide what is best for everyone when they have no clue themselves.

When has a government ever been efficient????

Myself as a single father on just over $80,000 pa am worse off with this tax. But I pay $21,000 in rent, $15000 in tax, $10,000 in child support and $12,000 in school fees. That leaves me about $400 a week to feed myself and my kids, run a car, pay exorbitant health insurANCE PREMIUMS, pay my electricity, put fuel in my car etc etc and when this high flying high income earner goes to first choice and splashes out on a $30 case of low alcohol beer I just feel like I am living the high life LOL.

Giddy up Australia with all the government intervention, taxation and ridiculous socialist policy we have destroyed any desire to work harder to improve life as we know it.

As a side note for me personally the difference when you take in to account the ridiculously biased policy of this government, accounting for taxation, Famility Tax benefit and child support policies the differnce between me making $40,000pa and $80,000 pa is $12,000. So for all the effort I make 27c in the dollar WTF is that doing to encourage productivity and job creation, prosperity etc.

Really just go surfing, drink beer, live on the welfare thats what they want because productive thinking people are not muppets and thats what they want because then they control the money and the power and we all conform to their ideals.

Long night shift saving lives but of course that means nothing over and out GL to all god knows we need it
