    Nice mention.......as below

Investors have plenty of local gold stories from which to pick, and we mentioned some online during the week.

If you're one of the high-risk, high-reward crowd, then one of the cheapest gold entry points must be Torian Resources (TNR), which closed on Friday at just 0.7c. The company, which has been listed since 1982, had some quick cosmetic surgery last month by taking on its fourth name in 29 years of relatively unspectacular performance.

Normally, something worth 0.7c would be considered too high-wire risky for our taste, but for one fact: the junior is in a joint venture with India's big steelware producer and industrial conglomerate Varun Group, which has a formal alliance with the Madagascar government covering uranium, thorium, rare earths, heavy minerals and oil and gas.

Torian stands to earn 35 per cent of any profits from the Vatovorona gold project, where pit construction has begun, trial mining is being extended to a depth of 4m and first concentrate (and cashflow) is expected by December. Torian's sampling has produced an average grade of 12.3 grams/tonne.

Just remember the "high risk" side of the equation. You'll be working without a net.
