UT...although I agree with you the tax's and infrastructure are separate items to the actual cost of land...

Obviously we can never "build on every square inch." Australia has millions of hectares of under utilised rural land that accommodates 1 cow to the 100 acres....If the Chinese owned Australia the landscape would be quite different and I believe more productive IMO.
The point is Australia has more land than we need for generations I expect. There is no land shortage...not for a very long time....
