    "America will not default ...."

    Dunno about that....
Obama spat the dummy & walked out on the meeting last night.
"The president got very agitated and said, Dont call my bluff; I am going to the American people, said Cantor, a Virginia Republican. Obama shoved back from the table and left, Cantor said. "

How long will it take him to go to the American people?
Also in Bloomberg, Bernanke talks of more stimulus..."if needed", lol, in the form of the Fed buying bonds...(double lol).
Thus far, every attempt to decrease spending and increase revenue through increased taxes on the wealthy has been rebuffed by Congress.....except for cuts in welfare, medicare, etc.......
Maybe the answer IS for Obama to go to the people......who are still losing jobs and their houses......I think you'll find they would be rather incensed....their security and standard of living collapsing as the wealthy retain their very generous tax concessions on the use of their corporate jets....
America will never recover until the people have jobs & homes....and thus far all "stimulus" has been by way of bailing out financial institutions....

We only have just over 2 weeks to D-Default Day.....
I cant see the wealthy conceding the loss of 2 cents to save the country in that time....there will be no agreement in Congress.....
I take Obama's comment on "taking it to the people" as raising the prospect of an election.....but what would be the result?
    Not going to be pretty.....
And if they lose their credit rating, Moody's states they may never get it back.....
I hope there will be no default....but time is running out as they squabble......tick..tick....
An afterthought....could this be a way for those with vested interests to bring Obama down?

    GZ
